Yesterday was such a fun day. We woke up early and headed to Kahneeta for the day. If you aren't from Oregon then you probably don't know that Kahneeta is a resort on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation that has a great pool. Grace, Chris, Erica, my Mom, my Aunt Pam, Amelia and I went. Poor Mark had to work and miss out on all of the fun. I didn't take many pictures because we spent most of our time in the water, but I will share the few I did get (along with some my family took).

After we left the pool we went into Warm Springs and visited the museum. I always love going to museums... and Native American museums always interest me. Auntie Pam helped Amelia with a craft they had set up for kids; basket weaving.
Before heading home we went into Madras to enjoy some Sonic. It was an incredibly hot day and cold beverages were just what we needed. I love it over in that area of the state. On our way home we could see all of the wildfires that were going on. We had gotten some crazy lightning and it definitely started some stuff.
Now I can't wait to go back.

ReplyDeleteI love Sonic. Thankfully I had forgotten we had one in Wilsonville and never went while I was living close. I'm still only 30 minutes away though. So tasty.

ReplyDeleteIt was NOT cool over in Kahneeta. We probably should have headed to the coast. I haven't been to the beach in a long time. Thanks for reminding me that I need to make a trip over there :)
DeleteI've always wondered what they had at that resort when we drive by on our way to Bend. We always stop at that Sonic :)
ReplyDeleteThis was my first time going. It was fun. The pool water could have been colder, but after sitting out in the wicked hot temperatures it felt okay.

DeleteI've never actually been to Kahneeta. I've heard so much about it and your post has got my curiosity going again. That's a good idea, just to go for a day. Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun. I'm not sure I would want to stay over there... I think I'd prefer to stay in Sunriver, but it's great for a day trip.
