Horse Crazy

Amelia has been obsessed with horses for as long as I can remember. She has horse toys all over, horse bedding, horse clothing and after asking several times... now she has horse lessons. When we realized this wasn't a phase she'd grow out of anytime soon we decided to let her start riding. My cousin Emily is the exact same way. I remember her being horse crazy and that love for them just never went away. Thankfully Emily has horses and lives close enough to teach Amelia everything she will ever want to know about horses. She has had a few lessons now and is completely addicted. I joke that she'd probably live in Em's barn if we let her, but I really don't think that's too far from the truth. I love watching how excited she gets when she sees the horses, and how eager she is to ride them.

24 Weeks

How far along: 24 WEEKS!!

Current size: ear of corn (8.5in. & 1.5lbs)

Due Date: February 7, 2016

Symptoms: Just when I thought I was done with morning sickness it hit me all over again. I had about a week off, but now it's back every single morning. I also started getting braxton hicks contractions about two weeks ago and they happen daily now.

Gender: A precious baby girl

Names: Cecilia Kateri

Movement: She's a dancing machine. I love watching her move all over and it makes my heart happy to watch Amelia's excitement every time she gets to feel and see her.

Clothes: I finally bought some maternity jeans! Yay! I still only have a few tops, but I did score some awesome deals on non-maternity dresses at Nordstrom Rack that will work through my entire pregnancy and even after.

Sleep: What sleep? Haha, really... it's bad. My trusty FitBit lets me know just how horrible it is. Waking up anywhere from 15-27 times in a 5-6 hour period. Ridiculous! But definitely worth every sleepless minute I have.

Cravings/Aversions: I really haven't had a lot of cravings, and if I do they are short lived. Lately I want grapes a lot. I can't eat a lot at any one time. I guess there's just no room for food in there.

What are you doing to prepare: We have purchased a few things (car seat and some clothes) and I'm getting ready to get our stroller, a wrap (to wear our girl) and a new, and ridiculously adorable, diaper bag. We will be moving in a little over a month so the actual nursery won't be put together until after that. I have a theme picked out and an idea of what I want it to look like so the crafting should begin soon. I'm on the hunt for a specific style of dresser that I can refinish with chalk paint and the fabric for her bedding.

Mood: Pretty chipper most days

Looking forward to: Moving and decorating Cecilia's nursery. Our living situation when Amelia was born didn't allow for us to decorate a nursery so I am thrilled!!! I think Amelia's room is going to get a little make over too. I also can't wait to see our little girls together. I really didn't care either way if we had a boy or a girl, but now that I know we are having a girl I'm beyond excited at the thought of two little ladies running around our house, giggling and doing all sorts of girly things.

24 week thoughts: With every kick I feel so blessed. So blessed to be carrying this little angel after praying for her for so long. Blessed to have a husband who works so hard so that I can stay home with Amelia (and soon Cecilia too). Having to go back to work and leave Amelia all day was one of the hardest things I've done. I'm thankful that I don't have to go through that this time. I feel so blessed to have such a sweet amazing little girl. Amelia helps me out so much without being asked. She brings so much joy to my life and has such a sweet and caring heart. I feel pretty lucky with the life I have.
