After a weekend of lounging about, watching Scandal, taking cold meds, living on cough drops and Girl Scout cookies and going through a box of kleenex I am happy to say I'm feeling much better today. I didn't sleep well at all last night, but I often get that way if I spend a lot of time on my butt... which is what I did all weekend. My sister Erica recommended that I start watching Scandal. I had seen the previews but figured I didn't have enough time to add yet another show to my list of addictions. I am actually glad I was feeling under the weather because I watched the entire first season and caught up on this season, and I didn't feel guilty at all. Saturday Mark worked for a bit so Amelia and I slept in. Sunday, since I was still feeling cruddy, Mark took Amelia to church for Sunday school while I stayed home.
Today when I woke up I hopped on the scale and was happy to see a 3.6 pound loss for the past week. I don't think it was because I was sick, since I ate as I normally would, so that put me in a good mood. After I was done babysitting today, Mark, Amelia and I rushed up to the park to get in a little play time before it got too dark. We had a great time and I'm really looking forward to the nice weather sticking around.

I am so ready for the weekend to get here. Not because I want to be rid of the little ones I watch, but because I am not feeling 100% and I hate not being able to get crazy with them. I'm hoping to get some much needed rest this weekend so that I can start Monday off with some fun adventures. 1. Mark, Amelia and I had a little game night this week... complete with boxes of Girl Scout cookies. It was fun to just spend a little time as a little family. The week is always so hectic so stepping away from the chaos is wonderful.

2. The usual scene in my house during the week... and I love it. Kids running about, toys being tossed around, giggling, playing chase and having huge tea parties like the above picture.

3. Thursday Amelia and I went to the library to check out story time. She really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to taking her to the preschool story time instead of the toddler one (that was the only one we could make).

4. Mark made a HUGE salad the other night for dinner and he gave me this gigantic bowl of it. We ended up splitting this since it was so massive. It was pretty funny though when he told me this whole thing was mine.

5. The man making us some dinner. I love that we've been cooking together a little more. He does so much for Amelia and I, we are truly lucky!

Oh my yummy! So, I've been tossing around the idea of meal planning. It seems that we always get to 5 o'clock or so and have no idea what to cook for dinner. I think if I planned out a week's worth of meals with grocery lists then I would be able to stay on track and perhaps save a little money on groceries. Tonight I decided to try a chicken recipe that I found on Pinterest, and it turned out awesome!

The recipe is called Double Crunchy Honey Garlic Chicken and the original recipe can be found at Rock Recipes by clicking here.  The only thing I did differently from the recipe was to have the honey garlic sauce on the side to dip my chicken in instead of soaking the entire chicken breast in it. We were supposed to have mashed cauliflower with it but for some reason (Mark did it in the Ninja) it turned out with a weird consistency and tasted gross.




Today we had a pretty great day. As I've mentioned before I'm babysitting at my home. I have a great bunch of kiddos, two I consider full time and a few drop-ins. Today it was Amelia, Kyler (almost 1 year), Carly (4 yrs) and myself. Thankfully the weather was nice and we got to take a stroll over to the park to swing, run around and kick ball.

Do you have one of those fridges? You know, the one covered in magnets that hold up this paper and that picture. Covered to the point where you aren't sure if you are looking at a fridge or a bulletin board... that was our fridge! Finally my frustration with the mess led me to do something about it, and the results are below. I can now say, my fridge is awesome!

So, all of the frames, with the exception of the large black frame, are from the dollar store. I spray painted them and applied magnets from Home Depot to the back. It looks so much cleaner than the magnet/papers everywhere mess it had become.
