High Five For Friday

I feel like I've been so absent on my blog lately, perhaps I need to start doing some fun things so that I have something to write about! Linking up with Lauren at The Lauren Elizabeth for High Five For Friday.

1. Mark and I went out on a date last weekend into Portland. We were supposed to go to my friend's dragon boat fundraiser, but it got moved back a couple of hours and Mark had to work. We went to the Sapphire Hotel, which used to be a brothel back in the day, and enjoyed some yummy food and drinks. It was a really cool place, but incredibly loud. We sat at the bar and they have the most amazing bartender I've ever seen. He was mixing drinks like a mad man.

2. Since our fridge was out for almost two weeks, we spent a lot of meals eating out. Saturday Mark, Amelia and I went to Famous Dave's. Thankfully our new fridge arrived Wednesday.

3. Oregon rain... gotta love it! We've been  having plenty of it lately.

4. We had a fun evening hanging out with my neighbor Kim and her family. I've known Kim since we were younger and I love that we share a fence. She made me a delicious bowl of margarita and our kiddos played the piano while the men folk chatted.

5. My baby girl got her very first haircut today! It was down to her little bum and they took over 5 inches off. She looks so different to me. It is such a cute little salon and Amelia did great.

Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend.

What a great day it is going to be! I don't have any littles to watch today so it is just my girl and I... which thrills her. It has been a pretty busy yet somewhat laid back week. Linking up with The Lauren Elizabeth for H54F.

1. I hope all of you mothers out there had a wonderful weekend! I spent Mother's Day with my Grandma, Mama, sisters, aunts, an uncle, Mark and my girl. Here is the present that Amelia made for my mom. It turned out so cute.

2. Another Mother's Day picture... but I love these two!

3. I love this spot! This waterfall is up the Molalla River. I usually only make it up here in the middle of summer, when it isn't doing much, so I was happy to see it before it becomes a trickle.

4. Spending time with this girl is the best thing in the entire world! Her and I had a fun week of hanging out and being goofy.

5. Saw this and found it to be a good reminder to strive for happiness every day.

Have a great weekend!

Friday! Oh how I've been waiting for Friday to get here. Today is day 4 of a migraine I've had and I'm ready to just hide away in my bedroom and not come out until it's gone. Things have been ridiculously hectic around here lately, and while I like keeping busy... I would really love a vacation. Here is a recap of my week. Linking up with Lauren over at The Lauren Elizabeth for High Five For Friday.

1. My mom went into the ER a week ago Thursday and ended up having to have two surgeries. We spent a lot of time at the hospital visiting her. I'm so happy she is out and on the mend.

2. Amelia's ballet studio participated in the Oregon City Teddy Bear Parade over the weekend. The kids all did a wonderful job and looked absolutely adorable! Their next show is mid June and I can't wait.

3. I love spring and all of the flowers in bloom! We've had some amazing weather here in the Pacific Northwest.

4. I made these pajamas for my friend Steve's son. He loves Spiderman so I offered to make the bottoms... but I also couldn't resist making a shirt for him too. I can't wait to see if he likes them. The shirt is all hand drawn... sometimes I even impress myself.

5. Amelia had program pictures this week for their upcoming show "Russe Classique" so I had to bust out my perfect bun making skills. She looked adorable!

Have a great weekend!

A Little About Me

  1. Have you ever experienced love at first sight? Yes! I have experienced love at first sight once in my life. February 12, 2009... the day Amelia was born. I knew I loved her before I met her, but the second I laid eyes on her, it was magical! That little lady stole my heart.
  2. What channel is your TV on most? We don't have fancy TV. We do have a little ROKU box so we are generally on Netflix or Hulu+
  3. Share one quality that you are proud to have. I'm outgoing and can easily talk to most people.
  4. Describe your idea of a great evening. Maybe a BBQ with friends and family. Nice weather, good food, amazing people and lots of laughs.
  5. If your friends were asked to describe you in three words, which words would they choose? Trustworthy, Reliable and Silly (Haha, I asked my best friend and he said silly too... so it must be so).
  6. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas! I have always loved Christmas, and my family always goes overboard. It is so fun celebrating the religious aspect, as well as the jolly old Santa part. Now that I have a kiddo of my own, Christmas is even more magical because I get to see her experience it all.
  7. If you could change one thing that would make your life easier instantly, what would it be? I would snap my fingers and be at my goal weight.
  8. What is one healthy food you crave? I love green smoothies.
  9. Do you wear socks when you sleep? No! Unless it is freezing cold. Usually I sleep covered by a ton of blankets with my feet sticking out of them.
  10. Share at least three things for which you are thankful. My family! My two best friends that  have been there for me non-stop lately. My faith.

H54F - What a busy week!

What a crazy week it has been. I haven't even had a second of down time, let alone time to blog. I'm looking forward to this rather busy weekend, hoping to catch up on some sleep in between running around. Linking up with The Lauren Elizabeth for H54F.

1. We caught the squirrel!!! There was a guy out last week to repair our gutter and he found their nest, tore it down and then closed up their entry way into our crawl space. In the process of all of that, this little guy got trapped inside. After a few attempts, he was finally set free from our house! Let's just say I'm one happy lady to be able to sleep in quiet (he ran around non stop).

2. Saturday afternoon we decided to go for a drive up to Cascade Locks. The weather was beautiful. We had dinner and then walked around a park for a while. It was a fun little trip.

3. I've been missing my mom like crazy lately since she lives 8 hours away. I decided Saturday evening that I was going to drive up Sunday to get her. Mark had to work all weekend so Amelia and I headed out Sunday morning to capture my mom and bring her back Monday. We spent 18 or so hours in the car and Amelia was a total trooper the entire way. I just wish we could have stayed up at her house for a few days before returning.

4. Wednesday was my 28th birthday!!! We all ended up at my sister Grace's house for dinner. It was quite tasty! and a nice way to celebrate my day of birth.

5. Yesterday my mom went into the ER for stomach pains and ended up going in for emergency surgery to have her gallbladder removed. I'm so glad that I randomly went up and got her, otherwise she would have been alone 8 hours away. This is my Grandma and Amelia waiting for her to come out of recovery. She was doing well when I left last night and should be headed to my sister's this afternoon.

This weekend Amelia is participating in a Teddy Bear parade with her ballet studio. The Oregon weather is supposed to be awesome! I can't wait to soak up some rays. Sunday we will do our usual trip out to church and then hang out with some friends.

Happy Weekend!
